Our Story

In 2003, Arlen Groban joined Bows Etc., bringing in her artistic eye, her head for business, and a passion for the company’s unique products. Bows Etc. was quickly growing into a wholesale retailer doing brisk business with boutiques and buyers in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Bows Etc. continues to sell to individual customers at large Spring and holiday events where the company’s booth is filled with excited girls and their moms.

Froma & ArlenEndless Possibilities

Even as demand keeps growing for our craftsmanship and selection, we have never compromised on our own high standards. That’s why we carefully train our team to handcraft bows to our exacting specifications. Every Bows Etc. hair accessory you buy is the work of a talented artist who is as passionate about beauty and attention to detail as you are.

We also care deeply about giving back and sharing beauty with our community. Every year Bows Etc. donates hundreds of hair accessories to women and children in homeless shelters, schools in underserved areas, and hospitals. We also support fundraising for organizations from local to national causes, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Children’s Inn at The National Institutes of Health, and the Lisa Sandler Spaeth Memorial Pulmonary Fibrosis Fund at Johns Hopkins.

A loving grandmother’s gift to a special girl has brought Bows Etc. to where we are today. With almost two decades in the business, we’re thrilled to know little girls who have grown up wearing our bows, from babyhood to high school.

Whether you’re shopping for the children in your life or interested in a custom wholesale order, we’re excited to share our bows with you. We are confident you’ll recognize and appreciate the love and care that goes into every piece we make.

Bows Etc. At A Glance

All of our hair accessories are handcrafted in the USA from the highest quality grosgrain, satin, velvet and organza ribbon, with sturdy clips and adhesives to ensure you’re getting a product that will withstand being handled frequently and still last for years.

Impeccable construction and appearance matter. If our quality control team sees a single flaw, we won’t sell that piece.

We listen carefully to your feedback to create the kind of products you want, even accommodating your school and team colors. Please make sure to drop us a line and tell us how our products are working out for you.

If you live in the metro D.C. area, you may see us at one of the many Spring and holiday events run by local schools, churches, synagogues and non-profit organizations. Please come say hi — we love chatting with our customers.
